Tech & AI

This is where people everywhere share the apps, gadgets and AI tools that actually make life easier.

Say hello in one line, and you’re in.

We see constant lists of “must-have” apps.

We’re interested in what worked for a real task.

The biggest headline feature is not always the one you notice after months of use.

Your first screen says a lot about what you actually use.

Name them.

The ones you'd actually miss.

Start the list.

The best ideas rise.

If your phone could keep one app.

Pick a side.

Make your case.

Turn on automatic backups.

Set a screen lock.

Turn off notifications from apps you don't need.

Check which apps can see your location.

Not the newest one.

The one you'd replace straight away if it broke.

Sometimes your phone has been able to do something helpful for years before you notice it.

BEST OF asks: what simple note-taking features help you retrieve scattered ideas?

Easy search matters more than decoration.

Big or small.

Work or life.

Comfort versus convenience.

A real task it saved you time on.

Your phone can ask for your attention all day.

But some alerts genuinely matter and others just interrupt.

Let's build the list together.

One app per answer, and what it's for.

What made it the one?

Time saved or something lost?

Say who it's for and what you need.

Give an example of what good looks like.

Ask it to check its own answer.

Tell it what to change, not just that it's wrong.

Free, and still the best at what it does.

The one you tell every friend about.

BEST OF asks: what small creative task would you suggest to a beginner?

Use invented details.

Cheap, mid or the splurge.

What actually sounds good?

There’s no going back once you choose.

We've all got one in a drawer.

Drawer of shame.

Go.

Add one detail you appreciate in a tool you use.

Choose one everyday setting and say what became easier.

Sometimes you just want the original button.

Where would you keep chat?

What worked for you?

Five steps is plenty.

Progress isn’t always better.

BEST OF asks: what approach keeps a small group's photos easy to browse and add to?

Pick one feature and tell us when it earns its place.

For an ordinary update to a friend, which would you send?

Walkman, Game Boy, a flip phone…

Add something you would feel comfortable checking yourself.

Name your favourite and the tiny task it makes easier.

Think about your own phone.

Did the change affect your checking habit?

Suggest one detail you would add to a simple creative request.

What did you eventually discover it was doing?

You return later and have no idea what it means.

Choose one device and explain why it stayed in use.

What does your browser look like when you are getting things done?

Describe a mistaken drawing or silly wording.

Leave out personal information.

Add somewhere you forget to look until it becomes annoying.

Pick one new job and explain why the old device suits it.

Which one would you miss more during ordinary use?

Contribute one sentence you would actually say to a friend.

What had been sitting there all along?

A startup sound or keyboard noise can bring back a whole era.

Choose one favourite feature and explain what it helps you do.

You need to remember a small idea.

Where does it go?

Tell us where the digital version does not improve your day.

Add a small online task you wish you could just finish.

Pick one edit you made and explain why the result worked better.

Count the corrections as part of the task.

What happens for you?

No wrong answers.

Just your reasons.

Everyone has a line.

Pick one useful alert and say why it earns your attention.

Do they help you communicate or make replying feel like homework?

Choose one simple search habit and explain what it helps you find.

Which makes a new tool easier for you to navigate?

Pick one activity and explain why you like leaving the screen alone.

Think of a redesign you actually noticed while using an app.

For a simple creative task, which reply is easier to use?

When you need a file, what do you reach for first?

A useful reply can sometimes simply finish.

Does this bother you?

Assume a simple everyday question.

What length helps you?

For an ordinary day, which setting suits you?
