A hot spring has painted its own rainbow

Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone displays a deep blue centre framed by rings of yellow, orange and green. The colours around its edge come partly from heat-loving microorganisms living in water at different temperatures. Seen from above, the spring looks like an enormous eye.
