This was our third visit to CLAP Dubai whenever we come to Dubai. The décor is beautiful and stylish. On this visit for dinner, the food was alright overall. Nothing was particularly outstanding, but the dishes were well presented and enjoyable. Food portion was also small for the price. One of the highlights of CLAP is definitely the ambience and the overall dining experience rather than just the food itself. The restaurant was quite empty during our visit, which meant the staff were very attentive throughout the evening. Service was therefore pleasant and efficient, although the quiet atmosphere did make the restaurant feel a little less lively than on our previous visits.

CLAP Dubai has one of the most impressive atmospheres in the city — elevated high above Dubai with stunning views, dark elegant interiors, and a stylish energy that feels closer to a luxury night club than a traditional restaurant. The music selection was excellent and created a beautiful late-night mood throughout the evening. That being said, the food quality was good but not exceptional, especially considering the level and pricing of the venue. There is definitely room for refinement in the culinary experience. The crowd also reflects a very typical Dubai dynamic: alongside guests genuinely coming for dinner and atmosphere, there are also many people who seem more focused on being seen than on the actual dining experience. What disappointed me most, however, was the service approach from some staff members. I visited during Dubai Restaurant Week and informed our waiter from the beginning that I have a nut allergy and therefore could not eat the dessert included in the set menu. I politely asked whether the chef could perhaps prepare a simple nut-free alternative from the regular menu instead. The reaction felt dismissive and uninterested, almost as if the request was an inconvenience rather than a hospitality matter. I was initially told “the chef probably won’t do it,” and only after insisting did the waiter ask the kitchen — which again refused. Ironically, once the manager became involved, the alternative dessert was arranged immediately without any issue at all. This is exactly why service training matters. In a city like Dubai, where hospitality standards are usually exceptionally high, guests should not feel that some staff members are simply trying to “finish their shift” rather than genuinely care about the dining experience. Management is ultimately responsible for maintaining those standards and ensuring staff are attentive, solution-oriented, and properly trained. On a positive note, a staff member named Mizu was absolutely wonderful — attentive, warm, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. Overall, CLAP Dubai remains a beautiful venue with a fantastic atmosphere and music, but it should remember that it is not only a night club with a restaurant attached — it is also a serious dining destination, and the service should consistently reflect that.
