These stars are being born inside a cloud

This is NGC 7129, a stellar nursery about 3,300 light-years from Earth. In a new image released on 6 October 2026, the James Webb Space Telescope reveals young stars hidden inside clouds of gas and dust, with red jets of material shooting from some of the forming stars. The different colours reveal regions at different temperatures and stages of star formation.
