How we rank

Every ranking draws on the same things: votes and loves from members, posts and photos from real visits, how often places are saved and shared, and facts we've checked, such as opening hours and location. Recent activity counts for more, so a ranking reflects today, not five years ago.

Any place or thing that's open, real and in the right category can be ranked. We remove places that close, and anything that breaks our community rules.

No business can pay for a place in a ranking or ask for a better one. When something is paid for, it's marked “Promoted” and sits apart from the ranking.

Rankings refresh as new votes and posts come in. Each one shows the date it was last updated.
